Milled carbon fibres are carbon fibre strands milled into very short, powder-like fibres. Despite being short and variable in size, the aspect ratio of individual fibres is sufficient to provide superior mechanical & electrical properties to polymer compounds. Milled fibres provide a better level of reinforcement to thermoplastics and thermosetting resins, higher heat/abrasion resistance, and higher electric conductivity when compared to the unreinforced polymer.
Some of the industries that are using this material include conductive flooring, riser buoyancy, thermoplastic, thermosets, brake pads, adhesives.
